2020 Scholarship Winners

Jacksonville Agricultural Fair Association Scholarship Opportunities

Over the past 66 years the Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair Association is proud to have contributed over 2.6 million dollars to local charities and awarded scholarships to worthy students who have exhibited a desire to further their education. The Association’s purpose in offering these scholarships is to encourage personal growth and assistance to qualified students planning to major in agriculture, veterinary medicine, and other fields of study.

To be eligible a student must reside in one of the following Florida counties: Duval, Baker, Bradford, Clay, Nassau, or St. Johns. At the time of application, the applicant must be at least a high school senior, enrolled or planning to enroll in a four year university, junior college, or technical institution.

The Scholarship Committee will review only complete packets, which must contain the following:

(1) The application

(2) The applicant's essay, which is a one page essay and briefly discusses his/her background, lists of any awards or special recognition earned from the community, high school, sorority, fraternity, civic, agricultural (4-H, FFA, or local or state fairs), or religious organizations in which the applicant is now or has been involved, and his/her leadership experience within those organizations. (Essay should be typed in Times New Roman, 11 font.)

(3) Three (3) original letters of recommendation. If possible, the letters should be written on the letterhead of the person making the recommendation.

The application, the applicant's essay, and the three letters of recommendation must arrive at the same time in the offices of the Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair. Packets are due on October 1st.

Please do not fold or staple any part of the application packet that is being submitted. The complete scholarship packet may be mailed, sent electronically, or hand delivered. Packets that are complete (application, essay, and 3 letters of recommendation) and received by the deadline will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee. The decision of the Committee is final. All applicants will be notified of the results during the first week of the Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair where the names of the scholarship winners will be announced.
