Greater Jacksonville Fair
November 2nd - November 13th
4th Annual Wood Turner Exhibit & Contests
The 4th Annual Wood Turners Exhibit and Contest will take place at the 57th Annual Greater Jacksonville
Fair, Wednesday, November 2nd through Sunday, November 13th.
The theme will be "Containers" with entries acccepted in two (2) categories:
- Previous Winner Category: This category is for those who have won in one of our previous contests.
- General Entry Category: This category is for thosr who have not won in previous contests or, are new to the Jacksonville Fair Wood Turning Contest.
Entries will be accepted on Sunday, October 30th, in Exhibit Hall "A" from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Exhibits will remain on
display through the end of the fair, Sunday, November 13th. Please complete a seperate entry form for each entry you
submit.
- Each entry must be the sole work of the entrant.
- It is preferred that the entry be created in response to the challenge of this contest but pieces completed within the 12 months prior to entry are eligible.
- Wood must be the primary medium and the use of the lathe must be obvious.
- Contest promoters and/or sponsors are not responsible for late, incomplete or misdirected entries.
- An entrant may submit a total of up to three (3) entries but may only receive a maximum of one prize. Please complete a seperate entry form for each entry yousubmit. All entries must be in the same experience category.
- The judges' decision will be final. Judging will be done by an independenty panel, which will evaluate:
Quality of work, overall craftsmanship and degree of difficulty
Design, form, originality and overall execution of the piece
Quality of finish and is the finish appropriate for the piece
Material selection and the ue of that material
Other factors the judges see fit to consider
- Prizes in each catefory will be:
First Prize - $150.
Second Prize - $100.
Third Prize - $75.
- Turned pieces may:
Have a clear finish (wax, lacquer, etc.) which allows the nature of the wood to be clearly seen
Pieces may be colored using paint, dye, staining, bleaching, etc.
Pieces may be enhanced using carving, piercing, texturing, etc.
Segmented pieces are not allowed
Pick-up: Entries may be picked up beginning at 8:00 pm on Sunday, November 13th or through noon, Monday, November
14th. Checks will be mailed after the fair.

You may complete the entry form below or complete an entry form when you bring your entry to the Jacksonville Fairgrounds,
510 Fairgrounds Place, Jacksonville, Fl 32202, on Sunday, October 30th, between the hours of 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.
Someone will be in Exhibit Hall "A" to assist you.
