Just the Facts

The Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair began over 58 years ago by a small group of citizens in our community

met to create a venue where the latest in agriculture, art and entertainment  could be showcased to Jacksonville

and the other counties that make up the first coast.

Yes, we are more than a carnival that brings rides and games for all to enjoy each year.  The rides are simply a part

of the fair which enables us to create all the other wonderful exhibits we offer our community at fair time.  We look for the

best in entertainment, arts & crafts, livestock exhibits, dairy & cattle shows and horticulture exhibits.  In the Florida Crops

Exhibit area, the Master Gardeners will help with all your gardening questions.  Duval Extension Service brings you

the very latest information on sustainability, solar advancements and eco friendly advice.  And, of course we can't forget

the many special contest we create each year, (College Alumni Scholarship Contest, Jacksonville elementary schools,

"Book of the Month" Quilt Contest, culinary contests, woodturners, etc.)  All of this and more, we do for our communitie's

enrichment.

Make a memory this year when you visit the fair.  Read the information signs as you walk through the barns.  Ask how

you or your child can volunteer or be a part of the fair.  Ask a Master Gardner how to make a rain barrel.  Would you like

to have a garden but you live in an apartment?  The Masters can show you how to grow fruit and vegetables in a garden

or in containers on your patio.  Show us what you have accomoplished this year that you are proud of, be it art, sewing,

canning, horticulture or maybe you would like to enter one of our cooking contests.    That's what we are here for...To

help you showcase your accomplishments.  Were here for you....To educate, entertain, inform and involve our

community in the Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair.
