ENTRIES

RECEIVING: Entries will be received at the Beaver Street Entrance, Sunday, 30th, from 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and on

Monday, October 31st, 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Entry tags may be obtained from the Chairman or at the show site. 

All entries must be in place by 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1st.

RELEASE: Entries, ribbons and prize money may be picked up after 7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 13th, or Monday,

November 14th, between the hours  of 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. All entries not picked up by 1:00 p.m. Monday,

November 14th will become the property of the Greater Jacksonville Fair.

HORTICULTURE RULES

  1. Eligibility - Open to amateur gardeners of all ages. All plants must have been grown by exhibitor for at least three (3) months and be of exhibition quality. They must be cleaned, groomed, and free from disease and exhibited in proper containers. Clay pots must not be painted. No cans except those especially made for plants will be accepted.
  2. Exhibitor will be limited to 75 entries. In a given section or class, exhibitors may enter more than one variety in a genus, but not more than one of the same variety or color. Husband and wife will be considered as one exhibitor. No duplications accepted. (Example, No 2 Spider Plants.)
  3. Each plant exhibit must be labeled with the common and botanical name (if known,) the Show Committee will assist with identification.  On the top portion of the entry tag, print your name only.  On the bottom portion of the entry tag, your name and address for premium payment.

AWARDS

Ribbons will be awarded in all classes with cash awards.
1st Place - Blue - $2.00            2nd Place - Red - $1.50            3rd Place - White - $1.00
Awards will be the same in Senior, Intermediate and Junior Show
A Sweepstakes Award will be given for the most blue ribbons in horticulture. A Sweepstakes runner-up will be given for second place. NOTE: in case of a tie in either of the above, the reds will be counted.

SPECIAL CASH AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN TO ALL HIGH AWARD WINNERS

"Best of Show" will be given from the "Merit Award" Winners - $25.00. In order to qualify for these special awards there must be a minimum of 10 entries per category in each section.
