Fashions are constructed and modeled by Florida 4-H Youth. This contest consists of three age divisions with different garment categories.  Judging, fashion show and announcement of the winners will be from 11:00 AM - 12:00 Nooon, Saturday, November 13th, 2010 at the Greater Jacksonville Fair.

Young at Heart 8-10 Years of Age  
Savvy Sewers 11 - 13 Years of Ave  
Timley Teens 14 - 18 Years of Ave  
 

Young At Heart Category: 

Young at Heart are required to construct only one clothing item, (i.e.shorts, skirt or vest.)

Savvy Sewers Categories:

Active Play:  One or two separates made from coordinated fabrics for a total look for your favorite leisure activities.

Swim wear is not permitted.

School Wear:  One, two or three garments, coordinated for a total look acceptable for school.

Best Wear:  For girls, street length one or two piece dress or dress with jacket or vest suitable for daytime wear.  For

boys, slacks with shirt or vest suitable for daytime wear.

My Choice:  Costumes, western wear, lounge wear or other garments that do not fit another category.

Timely Teens Categories:  Must construct a complete ensemble entered within any category, (ie shorts and top, jumper

with blouse, complete suite, etc.)                                                                                                                                                          

Active Sports Wear:  Complete outfit from coordinated fabrics for a total look for your favorite leisure activities, Swim wear

is not permitted.

School / Informal Wear:  Non-tailored, casual outfits of one or more garments, coordinated for a total look acceptable for

non-formal events like school, youth activities, etc.

My Choice:  Costumes, western wear, lounge wear or other garments that do not fit another category.

Dress for Work:  Dresses, suits or tailored sportswear suitable for a business setting. 

Special Occasion:  Dressy ensembles appropriate for special occasions, simple dress, etc. in any category.

Rules
  1. This is the Florida 4-H State Fair Fashion Show qualifying event for Duval County 4-H'ers.  Other counties may use this show as a qualifier at their own discretion.
  2. Garments modeled must have been made since the previous year's show.
  3. Contestants must make and model their own garments.  If you make several pieces, you must decide which to wear for judging.
  4. Contestants may enter only one category.
  5. Garments are to be entered in the most appropriate category.  If incorrectly entered, contestant will be disqualified for the award money.
  6. The top two entries from Duval County in each category per age division will qualify for the 4-H State Fair Fashion Show.  Two additional entrants in any category may be selected at the sole discretion of the Greater Jacksonville Fair Fashion Show Committee.
  7. Male contestants in this show are ineligible to model women's garments.
  8. Any suitable fabric or technique, (knitting, crocheting, hand weaving, etc.) may be used.
  9. Judging will be done by groups ( division and category) and will be judged ONLY on how the judges "SEE" your garment.
Awards
 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category of each age group will receive a ribbon and premium
1st -$20.00          2nd - $15.00        3rd - $10.00
One (1) "Best of Show" plaque will be given in each age divison
