The indoor arena will be remain open for use until 9:00 p.m. that evening
Show Date: Saturday, October 25th, gates open at 6:30 a.m
Exhibitors must be
on the grounds, stalled and checked in by 8:30 a.m.
Registration by 8:30 a.m. - Show begins at 9:00 a.m.
Accommodations
You may request arrangements for RV camper accommodations prior to or upon arrival at the Jacksonville Equesterian Center. Accommodations will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. Payment must be made at that time, (cash, check or charge.) For pre-reservations, call 904-573-4895, Monday - Friday, from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.
ENTRIES CLOSE SEPTEMBER 15th. Entry forms must be approved and signed by a parent and the applicant's 4-H Club leader. A registration fee of $35.00 must accompany the completed application. This fee covers registration, stall fee and one (1) bale of shavings. Entries must be received in the Fair office by Friday, September 15th. No refunds will be made for accepted entries.

Eligibility
- Entries shall be restricted to registered 4-H Club members, ages
8-18. 4-H JUNIORS must be between the ages of 8 and 13 and SENIORS between the ages of 14
and 18, as of September 1, 2008.
- Exhibitor may enter only one (1) horse which must be owned or leased and certified as a 4-H project by September 1, 2008. Replacement of a project horse prior to the Greater Jacksonville Fair's 4-H Horse Show is allowed if the horse entered is certified unsound by a veterinarian and request for replacement is approved by the 4-H agent.
Receiving
Gates will open for stall assignment numbers, Friday night, October 24th, from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday morning, October 25th, from 6:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Prior to unloading, horses must be checked by a State Inspector or person authorized by the fair staff and must be accompanied by a Negative Coggins Test Certificate. All vehicles and trailers must be moved to the paved parking lot immediately following unloading. Golf carts or motorized vehicles of any kind are not allowed on the grounds at any time during this event.
Judging
- The Modified Danish System of judging will be used. Six (6) individual
placings, 1st through 6th will be used for each class.
- Exhibitors may enter seven (7) classes. However, premiums
will only be paid for the top five (5) classes for an individual. To qualify
for High Point, you must enter Showmanship. Classes may not
be added after entries have been received.
- Florida State 4-H Horse Show Regulations will govern the Show,
(revised 2007,) a copy of which is available at your respective
County Extension Office. The Judge's decision shall be final.
When an exhibitor or exhibitor's parent, leader or agent is guilty
of unsportsmanship-like conduct, the show management may suspend
the exhibitor's right to participate in future classes and / or
shows for such period as judged appropriate. Adults involved
will be asked to leave the Show and may be asked not to return for
future shows. Appeals to the Judge's decision must be in writting
and filed with the Show Superintendent immediately upon conclusion
of the class or event in question. A fee of $50.00 (certified
funds) must accompany the protest. If the Appeals Committee
upholds the protest, the deposit shall be refunded. If the
appeal is overruled, the deposit will be forfeited.
- Attire: Exhibitors must wear proper attire and appropriate footwear at all times for the event in which they are competing. Exhibitors are required to wear SEI or SET/ASTM approved safety equestrian helmets with chin harnes fastened. These must be worn in all classes, warm-up and make-up areas or anytime while mounted. Only numbers provided by the Show may be worn.

New: No premiums will be paid on speed events
Under the Modified Danish
Judging System, contestants and animals will be placed in three (3)
groups and paid as follows:
BLUE - $20.00 * RED - $15.00 * WHITE - $10.00
Individual placings, 1st - 6th, will be used to determine High Point Awards, which will be given for Junior and Senior Western; Junior and Senior English; Junior and Senior Speed. Ties for High Point Western and English will be broken by the exhibitor placing highest in Showmanship.
