Contest Guidelines
THEME: UNDERWATER WORLDS
Completely open for interpretation. There are so many things that could be found underwater other than the obvious…. GET CREATIVE!
Entries must be composed from a combination (AT LEAST TWO) of different media or materials.
All submissions must be registered online at www.JacksonvilleFair.com/MixedMedia
Deadline to register is October 30th, 2026.
There will be TWO Divisions: Juniors (17 and under) and Adults (18+)
All submissions must be dropped off and checked in at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds (13601 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville FL 32221) anytime during the following days/times:
Thursday October 29 9a to 4p
Friday October 30 9a to 4p
Sunday November 1 9a to 5p
Monday November 2 9a to 5p

All submissions must have the following information securely taped, tied or attached to the art: “Mixed Media Competition”; Artist’s Name; Artwork Title; Mediums used; School (leave blank if not in school) This information will later be removed and used to make name tags for the art.
1st Place Winner in both divisions will receive $800.
2nd Place Winner in both divisions will receive $450.
3rd Place Winner in both divisions will receive $250.
Public Voting will determine the $100 “People’s Choice” Winner (only one winner)
Maximum 2 entries per person
The submissions must be an original and creative work of the registrant.
The submission must have been created any time after 1/1/2026
Art can be 2D (painting, photography, collage or other pieces that can be hung from a wall) or 3D (sculpture, model or other pieces that can be displayed on a table or stand upright)
All copyright laws must be followed in the creation of the design.
Work entered must be in the original medium (that is, not a scanned reproduction of a painting, drawing, etc.)
No piece hanging on a wall should exceed 10lbs
All ADULTS (18+) Artwork must be properly framed with either a wire or some type of
hanger in the back. Make sure the hanger or hook is durable enough to hold the weight of your piece.
Juniors (17 and under) does not have to be framed, but make sure it’s ready to hang with some type of hanger in the back. Make sure your hanger or hook is durable enough to hold the weight of your piece.
Gallery wrapped must be painted on all sides. All frames must be in good condition.
Art display area will be monitored and secured at night
Art will be kept inside and safe from rain and other outdoor elements.
Art must be family friendly. No nudity. Nothing vulgar or suggestive. No commercial or political signs allowed.
Sponsor reserves the right to reject any entry that does not meet these specifications.
All Art will be displayed as an Exhibit inside ‘Duval Hall B’ at The Jacksonville Fair from November 5th – 15th, 2026.
Movement is allowed but not required. Moving parts are permitted provided they do not create a safety hazard.
The winners will be posted on www.JacksonvilleFair.com by 4 pm on Sunday, November 15th.
Winners will receive checks in the mail within 45 days after the end of the Fair.
Art can be picked up on Monday, November 16th between 10a-3p.*or by appointment. Email [email protected] to set up your appt.
Any art not picked up by Thursday November 19th at 4pm will become property of the Jacksonville Fairgrounds.
